Las peores inundaciones en décadas anegan a Tailandia

Las intensas lluvias monzónicas que han anegado el sudeste de Asia desde mediados de julio, causando deslaves e inundaciones a lo largo del río Mekong. Partes de Tailandia están experimentando las peores inundaciones en medio siglo, el agua inunda las aldeas, templos históricos, granjas y fábricas. Al menos 281 personas han muerto en Tailandia, y otros 200 en la vecina Camboya. Los equipos de rescate están luchando para evitar una catástrofe humanitaria, y primer ministro de Tailandia advierte a las empresas a no utilizar la inundación como una excusa para subir los precios. Cerca de 8.2 millones de personas en 60 de 77 provincias de Tailandia se han visto afectadas por las inundaciones y las pérdidas económicas son hasta el momento se calcula alcanzará los $ 2 billones.
